How to Seize Your Every Goal

December 22nd, 2009

Before deciding whether single goals fit into your overall program of goals, you should work those goals through processes that can aid in determining whether this goal currently needs to be pursued. This may take some time; however, it will save you a lot of frustration and time by getting rid of goals which aren’t meant for you and helping to pinpoint what you have currently have to concentrate on.

1. Target your goal.

Goals have to be SMART: S for specific, M for measurable, A for attainable, R for realistic, and T for timely. Keep in mind that several goals need to be huge while other goals need to be long-range. Important goals need to be broken into smaller portions to make sure that there is everyday accountability.

2. Pinpoint how you can benefit from your goal.

People oftentimes fail to achieve their goals since they focus on costs instead of benefits. Instead of focusing on negatives, think about the benefits you can enjoy. While setting goals, make lists of tangible rewards that are going to be yours once the goal is reached. Every time you start to ask whether pursuing that goal would be worth it, just take the benefits list out and read it again.

3. List down all of the obstacles which stand in the way of your goal.

You have to pinpoint obstacles to be more realistic and stay away from being surprised. A lot of people have experienced the realization that they actually didn’t know how demanding a goal was or how much effort or time it required or how many pitfalls it involved. Planning carefully and in advance will get rid of a lot of disappointments; however, you need to understand that not every roadblock ahead can be seen. This is why attitude, commitment, focuses, and responsibility on benefits is still a constant necessity. Patience would also be highly essential. Simply keep in mind that by staying concentrated on your goal, both your obstacles and your benefits can be seen.

Actually, only very few people get excited when it comes to obstacles. In fact, any kind of setback or disappointment is seldom seen as something to be enthusiastic about. Still, these difficulties should bring about excitement, if just to become stronger by overcoming obstacles and making you soar to even greater heights.

How to Manage Your Time Effectively

December 14th, 2009

If you feel your workday’s plunging headlong into the never-enough-time abyss, you’re not alone. Many other busy professionals veer down that same dark chasm. It is possible, however, to rein in runaway time and manage it to your advantage. It might take a few simple techniques, or it might take an overhaul. Take stock, decide on an action plan and be the victor in the time war.

Pinpoint The Lost Time

A number of factors indicate that work time isn’t being managed efficiently.

Here are some clues to pay attention to. Time management becomes problematic when working professionals:

  • Don’t have the income level they have potential to achieve.
  • Aren’t seeing as many clients (as they could be).
  • Aren’t being promoted at work.
  • Take too long to physically find things in the work space.
  • Feel stressed and frustrated.
  • Might not be focusing on the best value-added activities for the company. Value-added activities bear a closer scrutiny when looking at time management.

So, where do already busy professionals begin to manage the time that got away, short of adding a few more hours to a crammed 24?

Take a good look around your office workplace. Is your in box buried? Is your desk covered by sliding mounds of paperwork? Do you have files in file cabinets that are dusty from disuse?

Organise From The Desk Up

If your time management has gone awry, disorganization might well be the root cause. To get a grip, set concrete goals about what you need to organize. Set aside a weekend (or two or three) to eliminate clutter from your workplace Write out a plan and tackle the project in small pieces:

No. 1: Desk.
No. 2: Shelves.
No. 3: File cabinet, and so on.

Purge ruthlessly. If the job seems overwhelming by yourself, consider hiring a professional organizer.

Accessibility of materials professionals need most often leads to better time management.

Rethink The Bits and Pieces

Consider “only” 10 minutes as valuable time to get a piece of the project done.

Registered nurse Amy Wilson, 40, knows this mantra well. She often plans out her day during her morning 35- to 40-minute commute.

As a care coordinator on a busy cardiovascular unit at North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley Colorado, Wilson contends with high stress, constant interruption and the need of patients, families, medical staff and insurance companies. On any given day, Wilson is responsible for monitoring the admissions, discharges and insurance care guidelines for nearly 20 patients.

She uses a monthly desk calendar to keep track of meetings and appointments, as well as jots notes reminding herself where she was during a task before she was interrupted.

By employing various techniques and resources to help get your time back in line, you’ll notice how your productivity increases and your stress level decreases.

In addition, here are seven easy-to-follow principles:

  1. Be active, not reactive.
  2. Set goals.
  3. Prioritize actions.
  4. Keep your focus.
  5. Create realistic deadlines.
  6. D-O I-T N-O-W.
  7. Balance your life.

How to Innovate in Life

December 5th, 2009

Do you want to be an innovator? Well, you already are but you just don’t know it yet. What I am trying to say is that each and every one of us has the potential to be innovative and creative.

Daring To Be Creative

Do you remember how much time and effort it takes for a child to learn bicycling? It’s a lot. So, unleashing your creative and innovative potential is also going to take time and effort. Following are some tips to set you well on your way to innovation and creativity:

Do not let people tell you want to do or that you are crazy. By trying to pitch your ideas to others you are just wasting your time and whatever ‘help’ they may provide would be in form of negative criticism. If all inventors and innovators of the past had conformed to convention, we would have been still stuck in the middle ages. If you are genuine, you are on your way to success and respect.

Invest as much time in your idea as possible. This is not to say that you should quit your present job, but to say that if you work with a little more discipline you can excel in both of them.

Do whatever it takes to keep yourself relaxed physically and mentally, at least for a short while, if not all the time during the day. This allows you to explore new ideas.

Keep a record of your ideas and dreams no matter how crazy or over the top they might seem. Thinking what others are not, is one of the strongest indications of innovative and creative thought. So, you may want to keep a diary of whatever inspires you.

Anxiety, Phobia and Meditation Sponsors

Concentrate on your skill not the instruments. You, for instance, do not need a 12 megapixel Nikon camera in order to be a master photographer. An artist is always aware of what works and how it works.

Be passionate about what you are doing. If you want to do something, if you want to change something, pursue it with rage. If you want it bad enough, you would be unstoppable.

Inspiration just happens. You cannot make it happen and sometimes it hits you when you are not even trying. So, keep a pen and paper with you just in case one of those next big ideas hits you in the subway on your way to work.

I surely hope that you have found the answer to all of your questions. Now that the path is paved for you, all you need is to run to your destination. Not only run but like run like there is no tomorrow!

How to Minimize Both Stress and Insomnia

November 29th, 2009

Pretend you are looking at the time. It is one in the morning. You have been trying to get to sleep for a few hours now, but are still wide awake. Your mind is racing. Your muscles are getting tense. You believe you will never be able to rest. Does this sound like you? If so, you would be part of millions of people who suffer from various kinds of insomnia.

Insomia Due To Stress

Recent surveys indicate that 58% of American adults go through insomnia for a minimum of several nights per week. Insomnia tends to increase with age and afflicts around 40% of women and 30% of men.

Although insomnia has a lot of causes, a lot of people cannot sleep simply because they are far too stressed out in life. Stress happens to be a huge contributor to all kinds of issues of health – from heart problems to weight gain – and cannot be avoided in the fast-paced speed of today’s day and age.

We might not have the ability to get rid of stress in our lives; however, it can be minimized through various strategies:

1. Make lists.

Organize the following day’s activities to three different categories: “to buy”, “to call”, and “to do”. Attach certain times to every activity. Rest assured, you will not wake up to any kind of chaos.

2. Relax the body.

We tend to carry stress within the muscles, most of all those within the lower back and the neck. Stretching exercises are able to ease any tension. Whenever you get in bed, lie on your back for several minutes. Relax and tense every muscle group while you work the way up from the temples to the toes.

3. Try sleep aids.

Aids that are non-habit-forming are very easy to find. Sprays called Insomnia, for instance, are natural alternatives to prescriptions. A portion of the line of Spray sublingual sprays, this spray can help you relax in order to ease into deeper sleep. Made out of natural ingredients, these sprays act gently and cause no kind of side effects, as stated by its manufacturer.

4. Unwind.

Before going to bed, take some time out. Listen to music or read while you drink cups of warm milk or herbal tea. Create barriers in-between your bedtime and your jam-packed days.

How to Stay on Track towards Your Goals

November 22nd, 2009

Have you set your goals? Have you geared yourself up to start on them? Are certain ways already established to support these goals? What can make sure that you stay on track when it comes to your chosen path?

It would be simple to stray from your path. It would be simple to immerse yourself into daily life. Whenever you set goals and then establish where you’d like to go, how can you stay on that track?

Whenever there are clear goals, which you wish to achieve, it would be simpler to set up steps in order to reach them. This may sound simple, but you can only take full control of goals whenever you stop doing the things that you do. Take a look at your current life. How does it look to you? Have you done steps today to achieve your overall goal? How do you try to stay on your track? Here are two steps for you to stay on your goal’s track at all times:

1. Hire a mentor or coach.

This happens to be an effective way to actually stay on the track to your life’s desires. Coaches can guide you to your right path and tweak your overall game. There are various kinds of coaches for various goals from weight loss to business to relationships. Find the one that is perfect for you. If your budget can’t afford it, report to somebody you can trust. Have your significant other be your coach. This can ensure that you actually do what you have to in order to reach your goal. The majority of successful people hire coaches to tweak their overall game.

2. Join up with people who have similar goals.

There are a lot of organizations in every community. If there isn’t one within your general area, scout for one online, as there are all kinds of communities you could join there. By surrounding yourself with people of similar minds, your steps will accelerate to your desired goal and reinforcement it. It will make you accountable.

The majority of people stray off track at some point when it comes to their goals. Whenever you find yourself straying off track, ask what you are doing. Are you moving away or towards your desired goal? The minute you begin taking action on top priorities, more confidence will be gained and you will end up having more power of time, as if you have the ability to walk on water.

Self improvement equals Self esteem

November 15th, 2009

Self esteem is what allows us to be confident and sure about anything and everything that we do. Without it we can neither achieve our own goals nor what is required of us by others. Following things you should avoid in order to preserve your self esteem.

Depressing Working Environment

Always remember: ‘Dogs eat dogs’. Stay out of survival-of-the-best competitions in which people resort to inappropriate practices in order to surpass the competition. This is not to say that you should avoid competition, but to say that you should only compete in healthy environments, not the ones which burn your blood and brain.

Ignore what others are doing

Gossipmongers, snipers, exploders, patronizers, bulldozers etc are sort of people likely to spread some vibes bad for your esteem. Ignore them or at least do not pay much heed.

Be a chameleon!

Every environment is always changing. You cannot be an only black sheep in an otherwise white sheep herd. Therefore, you should try to keep yourself open to change and whatever it offers.

Life is a battle and self change is your armor. You can be bullet proof if you keep yourself aware and updated. Be the change.

Pain is different than fear

It is ok to acknowledge a painful experience but it is another to be fearful of it. Do not let your pain transform into fear. It will keep gnawing on your esteem little by little.

You are what You are

Neither your environment nor family defines who you are. You are the one who controls and defines it. You might have wondered from time to time whether or not other people are born leaders. Well they are not. They make themselves what they are. Self improvement is an option not a rule.

Just in case you are still wondering, self esteem is all about taking control and responsibility of who you are and what you do. You feel empowered. Self esteem indeed equals self improvement and vice versa.

So how do you pave the way for self improvement? Answer is by being happy, honest, sharp and decisive. As long as things are in your hands and you take responsibility for them, you are well on your way to self improvement. Nobody is born to be what they are. They decide to be what they are. If you follow the above mentioned suggestions consistently you would definitely feel improved and empowered.

Be as Happy as you Want

November 8th, 2009

Staying happy, optimistic and stress-free is pivotal to your physical and psychological well being. No matter how dire the circumstances get, you can always find consolation in hope of change. If you think this is the worst, it will change for the better, sooner or later.

Tolerance and coexistence are central to your happiness. Try and accept people, for who they are, avoid confrontation and if such situations are unavoidable then try to at least understand the nature of the problem. If you try not to hurt others, they will not hurt you.

You can choose to be happy. Following are several ways in which you may do this.

Be grateful. Thank the taxi driver for driving you safely, the chef for a great meal, God for all his blessings. Be grateful for little things and bigger things would start looking up. Furthermore, laugh as much as you can. If have encounter a humorous situation, share it with others. Express your emotion as much as you can. Let it all out. This would prompt similar reactions from others, making you and others feel cared for and special.

Talking about feeling special, you may supercharge this feeling by working your heart out. This would increase your sense of achievement and self esteem as well. However, be sure to work on things you deem are worthy of your effort.
Most of news these days is bad news as it has always been. Reduce you dose of daily news. It will help you be positive in your thoughts and in life in general. You may also try and avoid going near violent situations and hazardous places.

It is important that you believe in something. If you think that you are deprived in some way, why not give God a shot? Plus, being a part of a religious congregation also includes social contact which is also necessary for happiness.
You may also try learning new things. Learning new things is both fun and useful. This would also provide you with another opportunity to socialize.

Time is of the essence. Do not waste it. You might want to curb too much of any activity. Too much partying, working or TV is bad. For this you would need self discipline and self organization. Planning solves and prevents many time management problems. Be sure to spend considerable amount of time on yourself. Run or jog at regular intervals or better even to join a gym.

These are just little things and are very easy to adapt to. You do not have to follow all of these suggestions but whatever you follow, follow it consistently. It is only then you can see the positive results! Good luck!
